"Sexy 8" were a 2002 Hello project shuffle group (the other units that year were "Odoru 11" and "Happy 7").
Sexy 8's song was titled "Shiawase Desu Ka?" (are you happy?) and was the highest selling of all the shuffle groups that year.
The shuffle groups were of course a "shuffle-up" of Hello project members, and Sexy 8 included Maki, Rika, Yossie and Mari (Morning Musume) as well as Ayaka Kimura (Coconut's Musume), Mai Satoda (Country Musume), Masae Ohtani (Melon Kinenbi) and soloist Michiyo Heike.
This has been one of my favourite Hello Project songs since I started to listen to HP artists.
The whole theme for the single is "mature and sexy", but they've pulled it off in a much cooler, appropriate style. I really like the video and the effects they use - it really stands out as particularly unique for a Hello Project music video. I love the cool, rain shots of the members and I adore the cute "lolita-style" outfits and hairstyles in the danceshots.
It might be a little bit dated now (believe it or not, 2002 was a decade ago), but I still love this shuffle song and it's subtly catchy enough to get stuck in my head for days!
I will definitley make posts on some other shuffle units - I think it's a shame that nowadays Hello Project doesn't do the HP shuffle group competition like it used to (although at least they've started the Satoyama groups this year).
Anyway, Please enjoy the sexy "Shiawa
