Here's a group that's a little bit different compared to most of the musical artists we blog about...
Today I'm sharing a new music video from Sekai no Owari. The band (whose name means End of the World) formed in 2007 and first achieved major recognition in 2010 for their debut single "Maboroshi no Inochi" (a personal favourite of mine) which ranked in the top ten of the Oricon chart.
Their latest single is called "Snow Magic Fantasy" and the music video really caught my attention! This video is very quirky - so if you love talking owls and hipster-cosplay, check it out (also check out the very strange MV for "RPG"!).
Sekai no Owari generally pull-off a sombre, pop-rock sound - however, coupled with radical, introspective lyrics and Fukase Satoshi's soft and wistful vocals, their music makes for some very interesting listening. "Snow Magic Fantasy" has a much more upbeat feel, in fact it really sounds like a Christmas song. The video has elements of darkness - but in typical Japanese fashion, even the weird stuff has got cute appeal! Only I'm not so sure about member, DJ LOVE and his clown mask.
The new single is set for release on 22nd January. Until then you can check out the music video for "Snow Magic Fantasy" below:
