Today I want to share with you the latest release from Takoyaki Rainbow!
This idol group is fairly new on the Jpop scene, so you may not have heard of them before.
Named after the delicious Japanese snack, "Takoyaki Rainbow" was originally formed in 2012. Shortly after, one member left and the group released their debut single "Over the Takoyaki Rainbow" in 2013 as a six piece group.
Under one of the leading talent management firms in Japan, this young and playful idol group are associated with popular artists such as Momoiro Clover Z. With an average age of 13, Takoyaki Rainbow are popular amongst younger children and have established a colourful and fun image, playing with traditional culture and comedy. Their latest single "Naniwa no Naniwa" is an energetic and noisy single, mixing traditional asian music, childish flutes, crashing drums and high-tension chanting. The music video is equally zany and vibrant, with plenty of crazy illustrations and CG.
