Vanessa (Mocha.Kitty.World) is a youtuber/blogger who specializes in dance/song covers of Jpop. She also uploads a wide variety of entertaining videos on her channel, VoiceofVanessa (one of my favorites being her 'sexy walk'). She is very charismatic and wonderfully witty!
Hachimitsu2 recently had the chance to interview Vanessa about her channel so far and her future plans~ <3! Below is Vanessa's super-cute and energetic dance cover of Heart Catch!!

And now for the interview!
HM2: Hi Vanessa! (a.k.a. Mocha Kitty/Maid Mocha) Could you describe yourself in one word?
V: Versatile! I am bursting with so many talents. Sometimes I don't know what to do with them but it's fun to try different things.
HM2: Your YouTube videos consist mainly of jpop dance / singing covers, but you also vlog and have other projects.
What would you say your favorite project is at the moment?
V: My favorite project at the moment would be "Mocha-Kitty-World" This is mainly where I upload my j-pop related stuff and I'm working on uploading more dances and cover songs to it! I'm not your average j-pop dancer so I hope to inspire other people like me to dance no matter what they look like! If you love to dance and sing you should show your talent to the world!
HM2: It's always wonderful to see real talent. And we think you have a fabulous voice and great rhythm in your dance covers. When did you first start singing/dancing?
V: I started dancing on YouTube for the first time in 2010 but it was on a different channel. My first dance was a cover for Night Flight by Perfume. (Link to that Video Here) I didn't start singing until recently because I was too afraid that I would be judged for my voice. It turns out I was wrong because people love it!~ I'm really surprised and grateful that I started dancing and singing it makes me happy.
HM2: We saw your audition video for Oishii Ichigo Project and thought you were a real contender I was ultimately disappointed that you did not get in. What are your thoughts on the reasons you were not selected?
V: When I wasn't picked I was very disappointed but I got over it eventually. I feel that I did well in my audition but maybe I needed to practice harder and let my confidence shine through. I feel that my physical appearance can partially be why I did not make it in but that doesn't matter, I'm not going to let that stop me.
HM2: We've read in your blog that you are now appearing at a Maid Cafe! Could you describe a day in the life of Maid Mocha?
V: Maid Mocha is currently a Maid in Training at Reni Mimura's Maid Cafe w/ MoeMoeHoney. She's a really clumsy but lovable person trying to be the best she can at pleasing goshujin-sama and ohime-sama. She's always snacking on treats, dancing, singing, serving her goshujin-sama, or trying to keep herself out of trouble.
HM2: What are you future plans/hopes for your YouTube channel?
V: I plan to make plenty more dances, cover songs, speed-art, vlogs, and MORE! :) I'd hope for my channel to grow way beyond where it is now so I will have plenty more friends to share my love for j-pop and Japanese culture with! I want to try to upload regularly and feel more at ease with my channel. I can't wait for the surprises the future has for me. I'm going to work hard towards success for myself and my channel.
HM2: Who is your biggest inspiration, if any, and why?
V: My biggest inspiration would have to be j-pop group, Perfume! They are such beautiful girls and their story of working hard to become a success has been so inspirational to me. They have had times where they cried and doubted themselves and their abilities but they kept going. I have times where I doubt myself and my abilities but then I think of them and try hard to keep going.
HM2: I must ask the big Q. What is your favorite anime?
V: Oh my gosh! This is a really hard question. My favorite of all time that comes into my head immediately would have to be Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. That show made me cry sooo much! It had an amazing story line and it's imprinted in my heart forever!!!
More interviews with various artists/personalities to come!
