The music video for Weather Girls' new single "Tomorrow World" has been unveiled!
"Tomorrow World" is set for release on March 5th in Japan and will be the group's fifth single.
The Weather Girls haven't always been a pop group - originally hailing from Taiwan, they started out in 2010 as a 38 member group used in "cute daily weather forecasts" on the TV and internet.
By 2012, the group had attracted a lot of attention and the seven most talented performers of the large group were specially chosen to debut as an idol group in Japan. In addition to their activities as a musical group, the Weather Girls' have had to study Japanese language and meteorological classes in order for them to take the Japanese National Weather Forecasting Licence Examination. Of course, their journey has been televised in Japan and their hard-work as a foreign group has attracted a lot of attention.
As we head towards Spring, many Japanese musical groups are releasing graduation-themed songs and Weather Girls' new single is no different. "Tomorrow World" is an upbeat, "candy-pop" song with lyrics concerning friendship and looking forward after the graduation season. It also signifies a fresh start for the Weather Girls as it will be their first release with new member Ria (Lín Wénjié), who joined this January after Dara (Zhuō Xījié) was removed from the group.
