Today I want to share the latest release from Sayonara Ponytail!
Sayonara Ponytail are a very interesting group - something like the famous group "Gorillaz", Sayonara Ponytail are comprised of three members (Miina, Nachan and Ayumin) who only exist as illustrations - characters created by popular illustrator Yuritan! The three members also are the major characters in Yuritan's accompanying manga.
Primarily voiced by three vocalists, there is also an extensive support group behind the musical promotion of Sayonara Ponytail. The group was formed in 2011 and made a major debut the next year.
After a long wait, "Shin Sekai Koukyougaku" ("New World Symphony") is their second major release. Released earlier this month, it is being used as an ending theme in the popular anime Kill la Kill.
The music video for "Shin Sekai Koukyougaku" is particularly interesting - they've gone for a live-action video! Of course the manga characters don't make an appearance - but a number of different talents and actresses were brought in to perform in the video. The cute school theme shows girls from different clubs lip-synching along and partying to the song.
You can check out the music video for "Shin Sekai Koukyougaku" here via Jpopsuki TV.
