Today I want to share with you this new song and music video from Oomori Seiko!
The quirky Japanese singer and musician also released a new album (Zettai Shoujo) back in December. "Midnight Seijun Isei Kouyuu" roughly translates to "Midnight Pure - Perverse - Play".... and this is evident in this seemingly innocent music video. The music video has also gained some popularity due to the appearance of Hashimoto Ai - the young actress and model who had a lead role in the "Sadako 3D" film and appears in the hit TV show "Amachan".
Oomori Seiko is a self-confessed idol fan - and she lists Morning Musume's leader, Michishige Sayumi, as one of her greatest likes! In fact, "Midnight Seijun Isei Kouyuu" is supposed to be a dedication to Michishige! Morning Musume fans will also notice the reference to Michishige's solo song "Lalala no Pipipi" at the end of "Midnight Seijun Isei Kouyuu".
The distinct electro-pop sound combined with Oomori's hauntingly child-like voice reminds me a little of Shiina Ringo - definitley worth checking out!
You can watch the MV below through her record label's Youtube channel:
