Today I want to introduce a fairly new idol group in the Japanese music scene! LinQ were formed in 2011 after idol-group auditions were held for girls that live on Kyushu island - hence their name stands for "Love in Kyushu". The group has changed line-up a number of times since their formation and there are now five member generations within LinQ.
"Colourful Days" is in fact their 8th single - LinQ also released an album back in 2012. Since their 2013 single "CHIKU-TAKU/Going My Way!" reached the 5th spot on the Oricon chart, the group have begun to garner more popularity.
"Colourful Days" is their first single for 2014 and after releasing on the 22nd January, it reached the No.2. spot on the chart. The song heavily features electronic-music which contrasts somewhat with the members typically "idol-ish" chorus singing.
Currently comprising of 29 members, LinQ use large dance formations in their videos in order to showcase their members. "Colourful Days" features many geometric visual effects and an outdated "retro-electro" look which has got the MV a lot of attention.
