It's been some time since we've had a "Hello Pro Love" post (a look back at old songs and artists).
Today, I want to look back at a very talented yet short-lived Hello Project group who formed back in 1999 through the TV show "ASAYAN" - the same show that resulted in the formation of Morning Musume.
The group consisted of four members - Ruru Honda, Atsuko Inaba, Miho Shinoda and Miwa Kominato and was named "Taiyou to Ciscomoon". Before they began recording, their producer Tsunku sent each member to a different city in North America to train them in unique musical styles such as gospel, soul and blues.
From 1999, they released eight major singles, two albums and also changed their name to "T&C Bomber". However, at the end of 2000 the group decided to disband to pursue different careers - only Atsuko Inaba remained signed to Hello Project and continued to perform at concerts until 2009. That year, Inaba, Shinoda and Kominato reformed the group for a 10 year anniversairy and again in 2013 they reunited for a Hello Project Countdown concert.
What was really unique about Taiyou to Ciscomoon was their musical style - their songs were strongly rhythmic dance tracks inspired by soul and jazz music.
You can check out the music video to their 2nd single "Gatamekira" below:
